City Of Alexandria:

Founded by Alexander the Great in 333 BC, considered the second capital of Egypt Located along the Mediterranean coast length of about 70 km north-west of the Nile Delta, bordered to the north, the Mediterranean Sea and Lake Mareotis in the south to Km 71 on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road, bordered to the east of Abu Qir Bay and the city of Edko, and the region of Sidi career in the west to Km 36.30 on the road to Alexandria - Matrouh highway.there is many wonderful sites in Alexandria.


It is also known as Bibliotheca Alexandrina, it is biggest library in the
world, it includes 8 million books and multimedia show room. Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa It is a historical site; consists of a series of Alexandrian tombs, statues and artifact of the Pharaonic funerals cult. It is located in Alexandria and it is considered as one of the world’s seven wonders of the Middle Ages.


its features a mixture of Roman, Greek, and Egyptian Cultural points.           
Pompey's Pillar It is considered to be one of the most famous artifacts in
Alexandria; its height is 27 meter and it is made of red granite stone.
Pompey’s Pillar was held in honor of the Emperor Diocletian in the third
century AD. It is the highest monument in the world; yet the exact date of
building Pompey’s Pillar is unknown however it dates to the Roman dynasty.


It is made on the form of square and the sea surround it form three sides.  
it has been built by the king Al-Ashraf Qaitbey 1477 AD. As it is considered
as one of the most important citadels on the Mediterranean coasts to
protect the country; for its importance it has been maintained by Egypt’s
ruler throughout the ages. Till the French expedition to Egypt led by
Napoleon Bonaparte followed by the British occupation the citadel was
damaged. At 1904 AD the committee for the conservation of Arab Antiquities has done many reforms and renovations.


This mosque is the oldest monumental mosque in Alexandria; it is located
in El-Anfoushi area in Alexandria, near Qaitbey Citadel. Inside the mosque
the tomb of El Mursi Abul Abbas; and the Arab Andalusian decoration of themosque shows its own characteristic. El Montazah Park The neighborhood of al-Montazah is at the far northeast end of Montazah District, along the coast. Built under the monarchy, it is a favored tourist spot on account of its sizable gardens and palaces left by its royal heritage


St. Mark the Evangelist (author of the second Gospel) has been
connected    with the city of Alexandria since earliest Christian tradition. Coptic Christians believe he arrived in Alexandria around 60 AD and stayed for about seven years. During this time, Mark converted many to Christianity and performed miracles. He is considered the founder of the church in Alexandriaand the first Bishop of Alexandria. According to tradition, St. Mark was arrested during a festival of Serapis in 68 AD and martyred by being dragged through the streets. He was buried under the church he had founded.


An approximately 25m red Aswan granite column with a circumference of  
9m, was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletain. Originally from
the temple of the Serapis, it was once a magnificent structure rivaling the
Soma and the Caesareum. Nearby are subterranean galleries where
sacred Apis bulls were buried, and three sphinxes


which gives the park its name, was cod during the reinstructing of the          
Khedive Abbas II, the royal family's habit of summering in the palace
eventually drew wealthy Egyptians and foreigners to the same location
(although foreigners in general tended to congregate at the opposite end
of the city, in al-Agami). It is considered to be quite exclusive to be in
possession of a cabin in the Montazah. It cannot be bought and is usually
passed down from generation to generation.


Stanley is a neighborhood near the city centre of Alexandria. The area         
includes the Stanley Bridge over the Stanley Bay along the Corniche.
It also includes the Stanley Beach with three levels of beach cabins.
The Stanley Bridge has a total length of 400 meters with 6 spans.


The Unknown Soldier monument commemorating those who lost their       
lives in the October War is located in El-Shohada Square,Its position
made it the center of commerce between East and West, and fleets of
grain ships sailed from Alexandria to Italy year after year. Gradually,
however, the city lost its prosperity.

Alexander born in Pella. The exact date is not known, but probably either

It is built with a thirteen semi-circular tiers of imported white marble
fromEurope; the green marble for its columns imported from Asia
as well as the imported red granite from Aswan. Its floor is mosaic;
its seats are made from marble, the theater can host up to 800
spectators. The theater was used for musical performances &
on other times was used for wrestling contests.


It was a tower built to guide the sailors into Alexandria port.
Alexandria lighthouse is considered to be one of the seven wonders
of the ancient world. The lighthouse was completed after the death of
the Great Alexander in the third century. It is constructed if three stages
made of large blocks of light colored stone.


It is located in Beheira Governorate. The city had an importance place
in the Pharaonic era as they used to produce the natron salt which was
used for mummification. The region also had and still has the most
sacred regions of Christianity. The area is known for several names:
Scetis now called Wadi El Natrun; Unlike Nitria and Kellia which have
only archaeological remains.


It is a town in the northern Matrouh Governorate; it is Located on the
Mediterranean Sea. El Alamein also has a war museum with
collectibles from (the civil war) & other North African battles. It contains
the Italian and German Military Cemetery on Tel el-Eisa Hill outside the
town. The German cemetery built in the style of a medieval fortress.
The Italian cemetery is a mausoleum containing 5.200 tombs. Many
tombs bear the soldier's name; many are marked unknown.

Commonwealth war cemetery:

The Commonwealth war cemetery contains the graves of soldiers from
various countries that fought on the British side. This has monuments
commemorating Greek, Australia, South African, Canadian & other
forces. The names of 213 Canadian airmen appear on the El Alamein
Memorial in Egypt.

The national museum in Alexandria: 

The museum is located in the Horeya Street and. The building of the museum was the residence of a former wood trading business man, Asa'ad Basily, who constructed his villa which was built over an area of 3480 meters in the Italian style. The palace was a popular gathering place for many of the high level people in the 30s and 40s of the last century.

Rosetta:

Rosetta Founded around in the 9th century, Rashid boomed with the decline of Alexandria following the Ottoman conquest of Egypt in 1517, only to wane in importance after Alexandria's revival. During the 19th century it was a popular British tourist destination, known for its charming Ottoman mansions, citrus groves and comparative cleanliness.

The Rosetta Stone is a stone with writing on it in two languages (Egyptian and Greek), using three scripts (hieroglyphic, demotic and Greek).
